Zoov.dev publishes three legal documents at /policy: the Terms of Service, the Privacy Policy and the Competition Terms. This doc summarises the clauses support gets asked about and quotes the wording that matters.

The policy pages

The index at /policy lists each document as a row: its title, when it was updated, what it covers, and the whole row opens it; questions go to admin@zoov.dev, linked in the opening line. Since 2026-09-19 the policy pages wear the workspace design (the shared (pages) group, because the old site and the workspace link to the same addresses). The wording of the documents did not change, only the page around it: the three documents are tabs across the top, "On this page" in the right margin lists the sections and marks the one being read, and the previous and next document are linked at the foot. In the workspace, the profile menu has a Policies link at its foot, left of Sign out.

  • /policy/terms-of-service, "Terms of Service", last updated October 07, 2026 (the account-sharing clause; November 02, 2025 before).
  • /policy/privacy-policy, "Privacy Policy". The page shows last updated August 28, 2026; the index card in src/lib/config/policies.ts says November 02, 2025 (verify which is intended).
  • /policy/competition-terms, "Competition Terms". The page shows September 04, 2026; the index card says September 02, 2026 (verify).

The operator in every document is ZOOV.DEVELOPER PLATFORM, doing business as ZOOVDEV, operating from Australia. The Terms say the Services are hosted in Australia and that using them from elsewhere means consenting to data being transferred to and processed there.

Refunds

All purchases are non-refundable. Terms of Service section 6 "SUBSCRIPTIONS", under "Cancellation", says exactly:

"All purchases are non-refundable. You can cancel your subscription via our customer portal, located within the profile or from your subscription email, all payments are securely made via Stripe, you can read more about their privacy policy and terms of service at stripe.com/legal. Your cancellation will take effect at the end of the current paid term. If you have any questions or are unsatisfied with our Services, please email us at admin@zoov.dev."

Related wording: "Your subscription will continue and automatically renew unless cancelled." "All payments shall be in US dollars." "We may change prices at any time." The Competition Terms add that "Credit packages are non-refundable and remain yours to use regardless of the outcome" and that competition entries "carry no monetary value, are not refundable, and cannot be exchanged."

So: no refunds on subscriptions, credit packs or team seats. Cancelling stops the next charge and access runs to the end of the paid term. Someone who believes a charge was a mistake should email admin@zoov.dev.

Licensing of exports and AI-generated models

The Terms do not contain a clause that specifically licenses exported files or AI-generated models. What they do say:

  • Zoov.dev's material: "We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our Services, including all source code, databases, functionality, software, website designs, audio, video, text, photographs, and graphics in the Services". Users get "a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to: access the Services; and download or print a copy of any portion of the Content to which you have properly gained access, solely for your personal, non-commercial use or internal business purpose." Other uses need written permission from admin@zoov.dev.
  • User content ("Contributions"): "We do not assert any ownership over your Contributions. You retain full ownership of all of your Contributions and any intellectual property rights or other proprietary rights associated with your Contributions." In return, posting Contributions grants Zoov.dev an "unrestricted, unlimited, irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, royalty-free, fully-paid, worldwide right, and licence" to use them, including commercially.
  • Feedback and suggestions ("Submissions") are assigned to Zoov.dev outright.
  • Privacy Policy section 7: AI features run "through third-party service providers ('AI Service Providers'), including OpenAI and Google Cloud AI" and "your input, output, and personal information will be shared with and processed by these AI Service Providers."

Whether an exported livery, texture or AI-generated model may be sold or used commercially is not spelled out. Do not promise a commercial licence; point the user to admin@zoov.dev for a written answer (verify).

Account sharing (added 2026-10-07)

Added after a paid Pro account was found used by two people at two addresses: the owner, and a second person who signed in from his own computer, at times simultaneously. Before this the Terms only said to keep the password confidential.

Terms of Service section 4 "USER REGISTRATION" now says:

"Your account is personal and is for one person only. You may not share your account, your login details or the account you sign in with, and you may not sell, lend, rent, or transfer your account or your subscription, or let anyone else use them. Each person who uses the Services needs their own account and, for paid features, their own plan or a seat on a team plan. Team plans and shared packs are the ways to work together with other people."

"We may review sign-ins, devices, and network information to detect shared use. If we believe an account is used by more than one person, we may limit the devices or sessions it can use, require the other users to get their own accounts or plans, or suspend or terminate the account. Fees already paid are not refunded."

Section 8 "PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES" lists it too: "Share, sell, lend, rent, or transfer your account, your login details, or your subscription, or let anyone else use them." The Privacy Policy already covers collecting IP address and device data for security and fraud prevention.

Nothing in the product enforces it yet: the site has no device or session limit (the plugin's device limit, account_access_devices with source browser-plugin or photopea, covers only the plugin). Shared use is found by hand: auth.sessions (each session's IP and user agent at sign-in), account_access_devices (the same device_hash on two accounts is one computer), and PostHog events by $ip for the same person at the same time.

Account termination

Terms of Service section 18 "TERM AND TERMINATION":

"WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO, IN OUR SOLE DISCRETION AND WITHOUT NOTICE OR LIABILITY, DENY ACCESS TO AND USE OF THE SERVICES (INCLUDING BLOCKING CERTAIN IP ADDRESSES), TO ANY PERSON FOR ANY REASON OR FOR NO REASON ... WE MAY TERMINATE YOUR USE OR PARTICIPATION IN THE SERVICES OR DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT AND ANY CONTENT OR INFORMATION THAT YOU POSTED AT ANY TIME, WITHOUT WARNING, IN OUR SOLE DISCRETION."

"If we terminate or suspend your account for any reason, you are prohibited from registering and creating a new account under your name, a fake or borrowed name, or the name of any third party".

Section 3 lets Zoov.dev "suspend or terminate your account" for untrue or incomplete information. Section 8 "PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES" covers scraping, automated account creation, harassment and interfering with the service. Breaching the intellectual property section means "your right to use our Services will terminate immediately." Section 26 "USER DATA" says users are "solely responsible for all data that you transmit" and Zoov.dev has "no liability to you for any loss or corruption of any such data."

Liability is capped at "THE LESSER OF THE AMOUNT PAID, IF ANY, BY YOU TO US DURING THE six (6) MONTH PERIOD PRIOR TO ANY CAUSE OF ACTION ARISING OR $90.00 USD."

Data and privacy summary

The Privacy Policy says Zoov.dev collects information users provide (email addresses, usernames, contact or authentication data, payment data handled by Stripe) and information collected automatically (IP address, device and browser details, usage and log data, cookies). "We do not collect any information from third parties."

  • Social login: signing in through Discord or another provider shares profile data (name, email, picture and similar).
  • AI: input and output are processed by OpenAI and Google Cloud AI.
  • Retention: kept "for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice", then deleted or anonymised.
  • Minors: "We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age". Such accounts are deactivated and their data deleted.
  • Discord app (section 19): the support bot reads messages in designated support channels and tickets, screens public messages for scams, and syncs Discord roles with the plan. Presence is not collected. Message content is not used to train AI. Support logs and transcripts are deleted after 90 days. Commands: /optout on, /optout off, /optout status, /optout delete-my-data. Scam screening cannot be opted out of.
  • Rights: depending on location, users may request access, correction, a copy or deletion, withdraw consent and opt out of marketing. Australian users can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Account deletion: "Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. However, we may retain some information in our files to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with any investigations, enforce our legal terms and/or comply with applicable legal requirements." Since 2026-10-06 the account page offers it: Delete account at the bottom of /app/profile deletes the account at once (see Accounts and sign-in, "Deleting your account"). What is retained is payment records (Stripe charges and invoices, the local payment rows with the account removed) and one fraud-prevention record: the Discord id, the email, the date and a few counts.

Everything goes to admin@zoov.dev.

  • Terms section 30 "CONTACT US": "ZOOV.DEVELOPER PLATFORM, admin@zoov.dev".
  • Privacy section 17: "If you have questions or comments about this notice, you may email us at admin@zoov.dev".
  • Privacy section 18: "To request to review, update, or delete your personal information, please visit: admin@zoov.dev."
  • Copyright complaints (Terms sections 2 and 17), competition questions, rules copies and winner lists: admin@zoov.dev.

Governing law is Australia. Disputes go to binding arbitration seated in Brisbane, in English, after an informal negotiation period. California users are also given the California Department of Consumer Affairs complaint address.

Common questions

Can I get a refund? No. The Terms say "All purchases are non-refundable." Cancelling stops future charges and access continues to the end of the paid term. If a charge looks like a mistake, email admin@zoov.dev.

How do I cancel my subscription? Through the Stripe customer portal, "located within the profile or from your subscription email". It takes effect at the end of the current paid term.

Who owns the liveries and models I make? You keep ownership of what you upload and create ("We do not assert any ownership over your Contributions"). Zoov.dev owns the platform. The Terms do not state a commercial licence for exports or AI-generated models, so ask admin@zoov.dev in writing if that matters.

Is my data sent to AI companies? Yes, for the AI tools. The Privacy Policy names OpenAI and Google Cloud AI.

How do I delete my account or my data? Press Delete account at the bottom of /app/profile. It is immediate and cannot be undone: files, credits, plan, API keys and the sign-in are gone; payment records and a small fraud-prevention record (Discord id, email, date) are kept. A team owner cancels the team plan first. For Discord support data, /optout delete-my-data deletes it immediately. Anything else, email admin@zoov.dev.

Do I have to be 18 to use zoov.dev? The Privacy Policy says users represent they are at least 18 or the equivalent age where they live, or that a parent or guardian consents. Competitions are strictly 18+.

Can I share my account with a friend or family member? No. Since 2026-10-07 the Terms say an account is for one person, and the login and the subscription may not be shared, lent or transferred. Each person needs their own account. To work together, use a team plan from /app/team (every member gets Pro under one subscription), or share a pack with them from Packs (Pro shares a pack with 2 people, Max with any number). Shared accounts may be limited, suspended or closed, with no refund.

Can Zoov.dev ban me? Yes, "FOR ANY REASON OR FOR NO REASON", without notice, and banned users may not create a new account.

Languages

Since 2026-09-20 this part of the site is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Polish and Dutch. It follows the browser's language on a first visit, and the language menu (the icon beside the profile in /app, or in the top navigation on public pages) changes it. Nothing about how it works, what it costs or what a plan includes differs by language; only the words do. File names, format names (GLB, YDR, YTD), product and model names, code, and some error lines that come from the server stay in English. Details and known gaps: Languages and translation.
